The Central Minnesota Municipal Power Agency (CMMPA) and its utility service agent, Central Municipal Power Agency/Services (CMPAS) continue to provide member-driven, customer-focused services to public power members and affiliates, and 2019 was another successful year in this regard. New Members

We were happy to welcome into our community three new Minnesota members.

  1. Lake Crystal
  2. Madelia
  3. Truman

New Employees

CMPAS developed new capabilities by adding new staff members to our team, including Systems Engineer, Alex Martin and Transmission Planner, Sayan Roy. These new core team members have begun expanding the reach of distribution system engineering and transmission planning services to our members.

New Websites

In order to better serve our member communities and those they power, we made a large commitment to reorganize and refresh the look of our websites, cmpas.org and cmpcs.org. These new websites make it easier for those seeking information on our organization, the services we provide and our energy projects much easier to find.

CMMPA Continues Its Strong Financial Position

Our strong financial strength allowed us to continue investing in our organization, our member communities and our power offerings. In 2019, we made large strides to help communities upgrade their systems by replacing analog systems with digitized ones and completing their conversion to electronic maps, all while returning $3.5 million to our members.

These highlights, along with many other stories, community spotlights, and more are all available in our 2019 Annual Report.
